as Thaipusam was just celebrated, it reminded me of my love affair with Indian cuisine in KL.
chapati and curry set was a staple on days that dad is in charge of our meals. we had a tandoori stall we went to once a week, which today is run by the 4th generation of a Tamil family. i discovered these batterless fried chicken with pockets of chilies and curry leaves, in the most obscured mamak stall, and I’ve never stopped making them since the recipe was shared with me.
we are back this friday, february 5th, 2021 with a homage to those southern Indian flavors; authentic, but not traditional.
